A national search is underway for a strategic, engaging, and experienced police executive to serve as the Port of Seattle's next Chief of Police. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a fully commissioned, nationally accredited agency central to the Port’s public safety mission.

The POSPD provides policing and public safety services at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA), maritime and cruise facilities, commercial fishing and marina properties, industrial sites, and Port-managed public areas. With a 2025–2026 budget of $48 million, the Department operates in a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment requiring strong local, state, federal, tribal, and international partnerships. Its 196 personnel include 138 commissioned officers and 58 civilian professionals assigned across three bureaus led by deputy chiefs.
